‘The Best of Broadway’ Coming to Local Theater – Chico Enterprise-Record

PARADISE – Two well-known and admired musical companies, Paradise Symphony Orchestra and California Regional Theater, will join forces to please audiences with “The Best of Broadway.”

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on October 22 and 2 p.m. on October 23 at the Paradise Performing Arts Center in Paradise. Both shows will feature rising music from some of Broadway’s top shows.

Orchestra Director Lloyd Roby will direct the Paradise Symphony Orchestra to provide the familiar engaging music for each song. Since 1958, the Paradise Orchestra has entertained communities with great music and has been honored with numerous awards.

Several voice artists from the California Regional Theatre, under the direction of Bob Maness and vocal director Olivia Cerullo, will perform several memorable songs.

Included: “I Could Have Danced All Night” from “My Fair Lady”; “It’s Time” from “Jekyll and Hyde”; “If I Were a Rich Man” from “Fiddler on the Roof”; “Hello Baltimore” from “Hairspray”; “76 Trombones” from “The Music Man”, and many more.

These are just examples of well-known and appreciated musical interpretations.

The California Regional Theater was founded by Bob Maness in 2012 with two goals. One was to create one of the best children’s theater programs upstate. The other was to create a regional theater company that would provide quality shows on Broadway.
