The AGA is hosting a comic book and zine market this weekend

If you’re feeling a little artistic this weekend, we’ve got you covered. The Art Gallery of Alberta is hosting its first-ever comic book and zine market, and you’re invited to check it out! The open-access market drops this Saturday, and here’s what to expect if you decide to head there.

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., local artists will take over the AGA entrance area to present their creations. While the full list of participating artists is coming soon, you can expect mini art activities, a wide variety of styles and, of course, the chance to take something home!

The market is inspired by an ongoing exhibit at the AGM – Comic Sans. This tongue-in-cheek exhibition is a celebration of Canadian visual artists pushing the boundaries of the medium. Which honestly reminds us of a certain Calvin & Hobbes cartoon. It’s a great way to spend an entire day at the AGM, but be warned, you’ll need to purchase an entry to check it out. Of course, you can just wait until next week leave for free…

So, at the very least, we think you should check out the market! Have fun artistically, friends!
