Stages Festival presents Paterson Performing Arts Development Council’s virtual performance of BROWN, BLACK AND BLUES

The New Jersey Theater Alliance presents Paterson Performing Arts Development Council Affiliate Member’s virtual performance of Brown, Black and Blues on May 22, 2022 at 5 p.m.

This event is part of NJTA’s The Stages festival, the state’s largest annual theater festival, which offers free and discounted theater events for all ages throughout March, April and May. The cost for this event is $10.

Brown, Black and Blues is a moving evening of dance movement, musical interludes and lyrical poetry exploring the existential origins of the sounds of revolution. Is the blues the recurring solemn verse of a particular group of people? Or could the truth be more mystical, more spiritual?

“We are thrilled to be part of the prestigious 2022 Stages Festival lineup as an affiliate member of the New Jersey Theater Alliance,” said Denise E. Womack, local poet and chair of the PPADC board of directors. “This partnership represents a mutual commitment to guiding and cultivating more diverse and non-traditional theatrical offerings.”

The Stages Festival offers more than 70 in-person and online performances, workshops, classes and events at theaters, libraries and other community venues across the state. The program was developed to encourage New Jersey residents to attend their local professional theaters by making the experience affordable, accessible and fun.
