Seasonal pop-up shop showcases the work of 55 Sierra Nevada vendors
RENO, Nevada (KOLO) – Find a unique gift for the holidays.
âWe have ceramists, ornaments, stickers, clothing, household items, visual arts. The good thing about coming here is that there is something different every weekend, âsaid Rachel MacIntyre of Wandering Wylde, a marketing firm responsible for promoting small business.
On Saturday, MacIntyre and his team opened the storefront doors at 1644 South Wells Avenue in Reno.
âWe see around 1,000 to 1,200 people every weekend. We will be open for five weeks. The participation is great. People love to support local artists, âsaid MacIntyre.
This is the third year that Wandering Wylde has created a brick and mortar for those looking to sell their unique items. Inside the store, 55 local vendors from across Sierra Nevada display their products.
âBuying locally can be time consuming, so the fact that they bring together all these people who don’t necessarily have a storefront makes it very easy for the consumer and for the people who sell their art,â said Elise Levy who stopped.
Buying something from the Pop-up Shop does more than just help the seller someone bought from stay in business.
âWhen we support locally, that money stays in our economy,â MacIntyre said. âFor every dollar you spend on a business, designer or artist, 68 cents of that dollar stays in your local community. It’s super important. This is how we start non-profit organizations. This is how we grow our businesses and help Reno thrive.
The boutique is open from Thursday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The last day for shopping is December 23.
