QNL is hosting a slew of events to celebrate the 2022 World Cup

The Qatar National Library celebrates the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 by organizing a variety of events and workshops in November for the community and visitors coming to Qatar from all over the world.
The events and workshops, which cater to all age groups, will focus on culture, heritage, sport and the arts.
On November 1, the library invites visitors to walk the Storybook Trail at the Quranic Botanical Garden and read one page at a time from the bilingual book, The Sidra Tree Rains, written by Basma Elkhatib and illustrated by Reem al-Askari.
The storytelling journey will continue until December 31, 2022.
On November 3, to celebrate Qatar-Menasa 2022, the library will host the Menasa Cultural Fair for visitors to experience the diverse cultures and heritage of the Menasa countries through different activities including folk tales; the author speaks; artistic activities and traditional crafts.
On November 6, the library, in collaboration with Studio 5/6, will host a series of technology workshops for 10 days to celebrate the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Children and young adults will learn and experience different topics and tools such as sports technology, 3D modeling, 3D scanning, mixed reality, electronics and coding.
The children’s workshops will take place from November 6 to 10 and the young adult workshops from November 13 to 17, 2022.
On November 9, join the library for the ‘Our Children Matter’ lecture series, which covers topics in childhood, education and child health.
This conference will provide advice to working mothers on how to commit to exclusive breastfeeding when they return to work.
Additionally, the library is hosting a two-day workshop for a fun learning experience with artist Fatima al-Nuaimi, who will show participants how to recycle paper to create eye-catching World Cup-themed bookmarks.
Finally, the library will offer guests another musical evening by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, which will present the chamber music “BassiCelli”.
On November 15, to celebrate the biggest football tournament in the world taking place in the Middle East and the Arab world, the library invites visitors to “Goooal! How Football Kicked Off in Qatar”, an exhibition on the growth and the history of football in the country.
The exhibition, which will run until January 31, 2023, will invite visitors from around the world to discover the journey of football in Qatar, its origins and how the game has developed over the decades until the present. culmination of obtaining the right to host this year’s World Cup.
On November 20, the library, in conjunction with Little Thinking Minds, will host the “Sport Information Challenge” for children. The competition is open to members of the library and consists of reading a few short essays on the library’s I Read Arabic site and answering the corresponding questions.
The competition will run until December 20 (submission deadline) and winners will be announced in January 2023.
