Camp 911 2022 will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., July 27, at the Big Rapids Department of Public Safety Building, 435 N. Michigan Ave., Big Rapids. This free hands-on learning experience is designed to provide seniors with preparedness training for various incidents and emergencies. Open to senior residents of Mecosta, Osceola and Lake counties. State Senate candidate Roger Hauck will host a meet and greet, with State Representative candidate Tom Kunze from 6-7:30 p.m., July 27, at Clear Lake Golf Club, 14777 150th Ave., Big Rapids.

The Cedar Creek Band will perform at 7 p.m., July 28, at Reed City Depot, Pere Marquette Trail, Reed City.

Art in Reed City Park will host a visit with Santa Claus and artistic activities at 9 a.m. on July 30 at Rambadt Park.

Reed City Area Chamber of Commerce will host a “Christmas in July” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., July 31, at Reed City Depot, Pere Marquette Trail, Reed City. Christmas-themed goods will be available at Community Market vendor booths throughout the day. Santa Michael – the Mitten Santa will be on site from 11 a.m. to noon for story time and photos.

Register for the Great American Crossroads Celebration 5K sponsored by the Reed City Cross Country team is open now. The cost is $30 until July 31 and $35 after August 1. Evart’s Businesswomen’s Community 2022 Scholarship Golf Outing will take place on August 5 at Spring Valley Golf Course, 18396 US-10, Hersey. The shotgun start will be at 9 a.m. The cost is $70 per person. Minimum of three per team. Register before July 25. For more information, call 231-250-8700.

Saturdays at the Depot will host Nick Foresman’s John Mellencamp Tribute Band at 7 p.m., August 6, at the Reed City Depot, 200 N. Chestnut Ave., Reed City. The event is sponsored by the Osceola County Community Foundation as part of the Summer Fun at the Crossroads program.

The green gold restaurant in Evart will host a back-to-school community event from 2-5 p.m., August 6, at the restaurant, 201 W. Seventh St., Evart. The event will include inflatables, food, a pie-eating contest and a “Dunk the Principal” contest. School supplies will be provided to students at the event.

Evart Car Club will meet at 7 p.m., Tuesday, August 9 at VFW Hall on 85th Avenue in Evart. The annual Eight Point Lake Cruise will take place on Friday, September 2. Runners will gather on N. Industrial Drive at the airport around 4:30 p.m. The cruise starts at 5 p.m.

The Evart Fire Department is sponsoring an Emergency Medical Responder course from 6-8 p.m., Sept. 8-Nov. 12, with Instructor Lowell Brown, BAS, CCEMT-P, I/C. The cost is $500. The deadline for registration is August 19. For more information or to register, contact [email protected]

Liberty Baptist Church of Reed City is hosting “Praise in the Park” at 6 p.m. Sunday nights at the Bandshell in Rambadt Park through September 4. Admission is free and will include a cook-and-share meal.

The Big Rapids Downtown Development Association will host the “Pocket Park Music Series” from noon to 2 p.m., Friday through September 2, at Pocket Park in downtown Big Rapids, adjacent to Raven Brew and Barbeque. It’s a free concert. For more information, visit cityofbr.org.

The Crossroads Quilt Guild meets at 6:30 p.m., at the Church of the Nazarene, 5300 220th Ave., Reed City, the fourth Tuesday of each month. Interested persons are welcome without being members. All levels of quilting are encouraged to attend.

The Reed City Pantry will be open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 831 S. Chestnut St., Reed City. Clients can come once a month for 12 months.

The Reed City Senior Center at 219 E. Todd Ave., hosts the following events each week: Wednesdays at noon – Fun Bingo; Thursdays at noon-Euchre; Friday – doors open at 10:30 a.m., Early Bird at 11:30 a.m. and Regular Bingo at noon.
